How am I gonna get the things that I want?

Currently on my shopping list… these are what I am eyeing (below)!

Probably one of the most important things that I would need at work is a really good planner/or a calender/wall planner, as the nature of my job requires timely matters!

That would definitely be awesome to work in such an awesome environment. Probably something like in Phuket or Phi Phi!

Hello from Bandung and more updates!

Hey guys!

I’m currently in Indonesia in the city of Bandung with An Honest Mistake, as we are recording our full fledged album with 11 tracks and a few bonuses to it. I’ve been here since last Thursday and will be here till this coming Monday! To be honest right now I can’t wait to get back home as I’ve been stuck in the studio and it has been tiring to record especially for violins as there are tonnes of parts to record as well as vocals with can be tiring for Darren and Sheryl.

Since touching down here, I’ve developed severe coughing and flu, and my body has been aching from sleeping on the floor. Definitely was a mistake not to bring a sleeping bag! Hopefully at the end of this week I would have time to head into the city to go shopping and a massage!

Other than that, I’ve been back from Australia since the middle of June (close to 2 months now), and I’ve been busy with the preperations of the band’s recording, catching up with friends and family, went for a church camp, and more importantly to send out my resumes and portfolio as I am now officially looking for a job and done with my study life! Definitely can’t wait to see what the world has to offer.

I’ve been pretty “religious” lately I guess cause now I’m at the point of my life where I have many major decisions to make in my life in this transitional period of looking out for myself very soon: working, find my own living spaces, a life partner, expenses, managing my own money and LIFE!

Its been so great to have many great friends that are continuously giving me the encouragement I need as I look for a job and to make the decisions in my life that will help me grow. I’ve been praying, reading the bible more regularly now and seeking God for answers to all my questions and the desires of my heart. And at the recent church camp, God did turn up and gave me the peace of mind and wisdom that I needed to make my decisions and priorities in life.

I’ve also been writing a few tunes myself and also writing more lyrics, drafts and drafts, as I’m still learning to write lyrics for songs from my heart.

I guess thats all the updates that I’ve for now : )

The ship set sail

Voyage of Columbus

Before a captain sets sail on his ship,

Before a captain departs on his voyage,

He sets a plan that will last through the age.

He spills out the map and lay down the tracks,

the beginning of a great movement awaits.

The Days and nights quick fades away,

The ship yet still stays at bay.

His dear friend has joined arms in his quest,

Yet confidence grew less and less.

He said: “Kill that anxiety and have faith my friend!”

Captain replied: “Yes my brother its time to make mend!

We shall rise and reap the opportunities laid before us

and let not pass like a ship in the night!”

T’was months pass by and progress has seen ripen,

his days of learning has deepen.

As time is ripe to reap its harvest,

its time to gather the men and steadfast towards our very quest.

Gather the men, ship held at bay,

yet men who’s been to sea will hold to bay.

Young Bloods is scarce,

yet to find a gem among stone,

will be one to savor.

The Crew

“Gather, gather the men who are braver!

Your time has come to seize the day!”

Thy captain awaits his men,

to raise from the earth and take his place.

For when the time comes, along thy captain they shall stand,

The ship will set sail when the ships crew are chosen.

The ship will then set sail.

Hmm… Apple you got to do better! The Dilemma continues…

I’ve been a Mac fan for the longest time now with its minimalist simplicity and fluidity of how the function rolls and most importantly that it never hangs and has Windows viruses yea! Why should I not buy a Mac! Well obviously the main factor would be the price and as a student and musician I won’t be able to afford one on my own till I start working!

The Apple products that I own is an iTouch (the one just before it has a HD screen and camera on it) and an iPhone which was recent! And my very first Apple product was the 2nd generation iPod Nano with the glass coloured screen! That was the best ever design for the iPod Nano to me! The Nano went through the washing machine twice… the second time it died.

I am currently doing an extensive research assignment with my groupmates at Uni on Windows Phone 7 which is a smart phone that never had an impact on me. Heck I didnt know that it existed till this assignment came up! To be honest it looks really cool with the new Windows 7 OS with live tiles, integration with social media apps, the only phone with Microsoft Office software and the X-Box Live integration! I am still not swayed away from the iPhone tho! iPhone ROcks! Yes the benefits and functions of the Windows phone is attractive, but I don’t play the XBox, and I would rather do my work on a laptop rather than on a small screen! It’s like so hard to work with!

Then just during my web surfing I saw that HP had new lap tops with the models HP Pavillion DV-4-7 which has so much to offer, especially in it’s storage space! Freaking 2TB of storage space! Daymn! That is freaking impressive! http://h20424.www2.hp.com/campaign/consumer_notebooks/ap/en/index.asp#/notebook/HP-Pavilion-dv6/feature

Now for me, I currently have a huge hassle with the amount of space i have in my laptop. with only 250 GB, I have 120 GB just on music alone! And as most of you iTunes users, you have to have your music in the hard disc if not you gotta keep loading your play list in iTunes over and over again!

So with the new HP laptops, freaking I’m impressed! Definitely won me over just like that!

I’m currently using my Compaq Presario which has been an old faithful till today with already 3 years on a Vista Premium and it has been showing signs of it dying off recently. Daymn… and HP and Compaq would probably be my number one computer brand if I am to stick to a Windows OS.

For a cheaper cost and so much more benefits over the Apple MacBook Pro… Apple… you gotta do better to convince me to switch!

At where I’m working now, my boss uses an iPhone, a Mac Book , the PCs are all Macs, our applications that we use in the office are all Mac integrated ones, we use Twitter, Facebook and 4Sq from our iPhones,  even our music player and online radio stations and podcasts are all from an iPad!

Look at the Mac desktop computer! Its simple, doesnt take much space as compared to a PC and the Mac doesnt’ have that huge Hard disc where you ahve to press an On button! Everything is in that screen! The hard disc, CD inputs and everything! Sigh even the MacBook Pro is soo good! sigh…

Overall, I love both! Even my boss has another HP laptop with Windows 7 OS! When it comes to a point where I need to get myself a new laptop in the near future, I will still have the same dilemma… Which am I to get!?

Japan Earthquake & Tsunami: How I am helping and you can too!

Pray For Japan

Hey all,

We all have heard of what happened and Japan is in the state f National Emergency and  a disaster that has brought me close to tears.

I’ve been praying for my Japanese friends who have family back in Japan and also for the people and the nation, and for the surrounding nations to swiftly send aid to Japan.

I’ve been thinking to myself, is prayer enough? And I came to a decision that I want to help as much as I can in this cause. I’m still a student, and there is only so much that I can do to help.

So I make the most of it and chose a few things that I could do.

  1. I just pre-ordered a “Army for Japan” Shirt, where my proceeds will be donated to the Japanese recovery effort by Salvation Army. (Click on the photo for the link)

My Army for Japan shirt receipt

  2. I’ve sent an online donation to the Australian Red Cross of AUD$20 , where all proceeds will be used to provide equipment, and medical supplies for this relief and to those in need.

  3. A group of my friends at university is putting together donations and sending at least one Shelter Box (of aid) to Japan to provide supplies which contains a shelter made by Vango (leading tent manufacturer), A Smile (which contains drawing pads, books, colour pens and crayons), Warmth and Protection (contains thermal blankets, insulated ground sheets, mosquito nets and water purification equipment), Self Sufficiency (a survival tool kit: hammer, axe, saw, shovel, wire cutters and other tools), Fit for purpose box for storage of things, a heart at home kit (containing: a multi stove kit (specially designed to use things in the environment to run the stove and to provide food for a family), and other equipments. So my mission is to donate a further $20 for this effort to provide at least a Shelter box to Japan. (Click on picture below for more info!)

    Shelter Box

  4. I will be fasting lunch for a week starting 14th March – 20th March 2011, as well as dedicating an extra half an hour of each of my work outs to the Japan & Pacific disaster.

So I am doing my part by donating $100 of what I can afford and also my time to this cause.

My friends, your family and citizens of Japan, my prayers are with you and I hope that my part can help you get back on to your feet.

So what are you going to do to help? Below are some links (with organizations and NGOs) on how you can help and make a difference:
